Brief Biography
Dr. Clifford Koen comes to the Department of Management & Marketing from the University of New Orleans Department of Management. Dr. Koen served as Professor of Business Law and Management at UNO. He taught undergraduate and graduate courses in business law, employment law, human resource management, and also taught the legal environment course for the Executive MBA Program. He has served as a consultant and conducted training programs for employers on EEO legislation, sexual harassment, employee discipline, performance appraisal, and other human resource-oriented topics. While at the University of New Orleans, Dr. Koen received several teaching awards from students and faculty at the department, college and university level. He has published numerous journal articles on a variety of legal and management topics including sexual harassment, disability discrimination, employment contracts, employee discipline, employment interviewing, and employer-employee communication. His hobbies and interests include hiking, bicycling, tennis, baseball, softball, and basketball.
Dr. Koen received his B.B.A., M.S., and J.D. from Memphis State University. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Tennessee. As Associate Professor of Business Law in the Department of Management & Marketing, Dr. Koen will be teaching classes in Legal Environment of Business.
